What team(s) can I join?
The Life Team is tasked with developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and events to build and maintain a strong and diverse graduate student community through social, cultural, and recreational events in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
CAREER TEAM
The Career Team is tasked with developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and events geared toward the continual professional growth of Purdue graduate students within, alongside, and beyond the classroom.
The Community Team is tasked with establishing and maintaining relationships with the rest of the Purdue University and the community at large (including but not limited to the cities of West Lafayette and Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, local business and non-profit organizations) with the expressed goal of improving the welfare of graduate life either through advocacy or specialized events.
SENATE
GRANT REVIEW & ALLOCATION COMMITTEE
The Grant Review and Allocation Committee Oversees and facilitate the awarding of all grant and grant-like awards which are administered by PGSG. They also Provide assistance and information to Purdue graduate students and graduate student groups seeking funding from any PGSG grant or grant-like award program.
The Legislative Review Committee, chaired by the PGSG Parliamentarian maintains and biennially audits the PGSG Constitution and Bylaws, develops and provides parliamentary expertise, scrutinizes and proposes amendments to Senate-referred bills and resolutions, and advises on questions of authority and scope across PGSG, PGSS, the Executive Board, and committees.
The PR Committee is responsible for effectively communicating information about PGSG events, announcements, and initiatives to the graduate students. This involves managing PGSG social media accounts and a weekly newsletter, ensuring regular updates reach the graduate student community. Additionally, special edition newsletters are also crafted for flagship events, GRAC grants, and important announcements based on need.
DIVERSITY TEAM
The Diversity Team is tasked with crafting initiatives that champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within Purdue and extend its impact to broader horizons.
What is PGSC?
The PGSC is located on Purdue University campus at 504 Northwestern Avenue (the building in front of the Northwestern parking garage). The facility opened in August 2014 and is available to all current Purdue graduate students. The Center is home to Purdue Graduate Student Government (PGSG) and Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA).
