PGSG Summer Bus Pass Reimbursement – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is this reimbursement initiative about?

PGSG is offering a one-time reimbursement to graduate students who independently purchased a full Summer 2025 Citybus pass following the expiration of the free off-campus transportation offered by the University. This initiative supports students who depend on public transit to reach campus, labs, and essential services.

2. Who is eligible to apply?

You are eligible if: 

  • You are a current Purdue graduate student, and
  • You purchased a CityBus Summer 2025 full semester pass on or before May 28, 2025, and
  • You submit all required documents by June 11, 2025
3. What types of bus passes are eligible for reimbursement?

Only semester CityBus passes for Summer 2025 are eligible.
The following are not eligible:

  • One-time passes
  • Weekly or monthly passes
  • Daily fares
  • Passes purchased after May 28, 2025
4. How do I apply?

Proof of purchase showing:

  • Payment amount and payment method details showing last 4 digits of your card details (find image attached)
  • Purchase history from Token Transit App (must be on or before May 28; find image attached). Please follow these steps:
    1. Open Token Transit App and go to your account profile
    2. Go to History and take a screenshot of your Summer pass receipt.
5. What is the deadline to apply?

All applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on June 11, 2025.
Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

6. How many students will be reimbursed?

Up to 250 graduate students will be reimbursed. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the cap or available funding is reached.

7. How will I know if I was selected?

Only selected applicants will be contacted. Those selected will receive a confirmation email with details on the reimbursement process.

8. How much will I be reimbursed?

All successful applicants will be reimbursed $42, which represents 50% of the total cost of a regular CityBus summer semester pass.

9. How will the reimbursement be paid?

Once selected, PGSG will coordinate the reimbursement process through Purdue’s authorized financial system. Detailed instructions will be included in your confirmation email.

10. I received assistance elsewhere, can I still apply?

We respectfully encourage students who have not received any transportation assistance to take advantage of this opportunity. Our goal is to support those most affected by the transition away from free transportation.

11. Are passes purchased after May 28 eligible?

No. Passes purchased after May 28, 2025, do not qualify for reimbursement.

12. What happens if I submit incomplete documentation?

Applications with missing or unclear information will not be considered. Please review your submission carefully before sending.
