A Letter From The President

To my fellow graduate students,

I wish to address an issue that arose in last week’s PGSG XPress with the creation of a Presidential Update Column, which was designed to spotlight noteworthy PGSG achievements. However, this column appeared as a letter that I did not write or authorize. In response, I have chosen to initiate weekly communication with you every Wednesday, highlighting the most significant updates of the week.

PGSG continues to provide an on-demand shuttle service through Rides2U. This service, akin to a personalized taxi, operates from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. the following day, exclusively on Thursdays through Sundays. Details regarding ride request protocols can be found on our website.
I remain committed to prioritizing your housing and stipend requirements as we collaborate with the university administration to address them promptly. If you have specific concerns that demand my attention, please do not hesitate to contact your PGSS Senators.
In a significant development, PGSG has recently established its inaugural Diversity Team, which is actively seeking new members. If you wish to contribute to this important initiative, please contact my Chief of Staff at cos@purduegradstudents.com to express your interest in joining PGSG Teams.
PGSG is excited to announce the upcoming Mental Health Action Week, scheduled from November 13 to November 17. This week-long event will feature a range of activities tailored to your well-being, and I encourage your participation in them. We will kick off the week with a breakfast event on November 13 at 9 am, hosted at PGSC and attended by CAPS. I will also be present at this event, providing an opportunity for in-person discussions should you have any concerns.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our graduate student community.
At your service,
Somosmita Mitra
President,
